Perfect World Makes Cryptic (North) Announcement

Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios has announced the formation of Cryptic North, a new division of Cryptic Studios led by Director Russell Williams, an industry veteran with over 15 years of experience.

Currently, Williams and the Cryptic North team are working closely with Cryptic Studios on the continuing development of the highly-acclaimed super-hero MMORPG, Champions Online, as well as supporting efforts on both Star Trek Online and Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter. Based in downtown Seattle, Cryptic North is well-poised to take advantage of the rich talent pool of Seattle's development community.

Prior to joining Cryptic North, Russell Williams co-founded Flying Lab Software, where he oversaw the development and launch of Pirates of the Burning Sea. Williams also worked as a co-designer and producer for Rails Across America, an award-winning PC strategy title praised for its game mechanics.
