Sport Pad
Score: 92%
Developer: Mad Catz
Device Type: Controller

Function:

Remember the original Sony controller? The MCSports Sport Pad is shaped almost identical to the Original controller. (Actually, it is shaped exactly like the Mad Catz Standard Controller.) The Sport Pad has a soft-feeling, anti-sweat coating on the body of the controller, making it feel better in the hands than the Original PSX controller. It also has ergonomic finger grips added in the handles.

Performance:

The MCSports Sport Pad feels better than any previous standard controller I?ve used. And, being a standard controller, it?s simple to use. Anyone who?s played PlayStation should easily pick this controller up and play. There are no settings, no features to turn on or off... just take it out of the box, plug it in, and wail. Those out there who didn?t get turned on to PlayStation until the Dual Shock controllers were standard may find it to be lacking in features and somewhat plain. But for most sports games, those features are usually unnecessary.

With its anti-sweat rubber coating, the MCSports Sport Pad controller is a pleasure to hold. Being a standard controller (sans motors and extra chips and/or circuits), the Sport Pad is lightweight. Factor in the ergonomic grips in the handles of the Sport Pad, and it?s easy to see that this controller is perfect for hours of continued use without fatigue. So, don?t challenge your friend to a game, challenge him to a season.

Features:
  • Electric blue color
  • Eight-way floating D-pad
  • Anti-sweat rubber coating for ultimate control
  • Custom finger grips for maximum comfort
  • 6?7? cord

Drawbacks & Problems::

This controller is not for gamers who want bells and whistles. However, if you?re looking for a solid controller to play sports games with (and strategy games for that matter), the MCSports Sport Pad is an excellent choice.
