LUCASARTS JUMPS ON THE
KART-RACING BANDWAGON

Everybody and their mother is doing kart racing games nowadays, and now Lucasarts is hopping along for the ride as well. Star Wars Super Bombad Racing promises kart racing action for the Dreamcast, PS2, PC, and Mac. The characters are going to be rendered humourously, with a super-deformed flair, instead of the usual Star Wars style. You'll be able to race as Darth Maul (how do you make Darth Maul cute? Oh, but he is!) and even Yoda on various tracks in the Star Wars universe. Lucasarts is promising nine tracks and twenty-five power-up items and abilities. Time will tell if Star Wars Super Bombad Racing will stand out in the crowded field of kart racers, although the systems that it's aiming for aren't as overloaded with the genre as the Playstation is. With Lucasarts doing it, though, it could be a very cool game.
