FIRST LOOK:
RUNELORDS (KEMCO) - 'ANOTHER WORLD, ANOTHER TIME'

In the Age of Wonder . . . err, wrong song. David Farland, however, is promising us an epic adventure on the Gameboy Color with Runelords, a dive into the series he created. The hero, Theron Mannesfree, must get his once-united nation to gather together again and best Sarakane, the loathsome wolflord. Taking place on eight islands and underground, Runelords is promising good things: conversations that actually affect gameplay, random enemy encounters tailored to the characters and time spent in the game, with up to twenty opponents (!). Character improvement is done interestingly -- by convincing people to give you their abilities, like their good sight or their Herculean strength, you can use these 'endowments' to increase the power of your party. There will also be castle sieges, of which you'll be on both sides of at times. That's a whole lot of stuff to cram into a little cartridge like the GBC, but I'm sure excited to see the final result. Keep watching for more news on this Kemco release.
