FIRST LOOK:
MTV SPORTS: FREESTYLE BMX (THQ)

Coming from Blue Shift this Winter, we'll have an addition to the Extreme Sports library for Playstation and GameBoy Color. Freestyle BMX takes a proven champ from the X-Games circuit , TJ Lavin, and combines trick-based gameplay with fancy features and the MTV name. Multiple environments and rider profiles, along with over 50 available tricks make up some of the in-game elements of Freestyle BMX.

Of course, the MTV license means plenty of hot bands, but it's undisclosed yet whether we'll be hearing up'n'comings or proven stars. Either way, the soundtrack is sure to rock!

Freestyle BMX supports at least 2 players, and hopefully could see some multi- player modes before its release date. In single player mode, you'll be able to upgrade equipment both for rider and bike, choose from 10 pro-circuit riders, open up harder courses to earn better upgrades and win fame and fortune along the way. With a 'Playfield Evolution' feature that modifies terrain during play and some secret tracks, bikes and riders, Freestyle BMX should be a welcome addition to the Extreme category this year.
