Bethesda has announced that they will be developing IHRA Drag Racing for the PC. IHRA Drag Racing, a licensed product from the International Hot Rod Association, will hit the shelves this summer.IHRA Drag Racing wil feature nine IHRA sanctioned tracks, a wide variety of cars and two types of sprint racing. IHRA DR will feature 50 cars, from classics to present-day vehicles, the top five cars and drivers from IHRA's drag racing classifications (including Top Fuel, Pro Mod, Pro Stock, Alcohol Funny Car), quarter mile and 1/8 mile heats in day and night conditions, with 70 vehicle components that can be customized (including suspension, transmission, tires, aerodynamics and electronics), full simulation of engine dynamics (including fuel injectors, cams, blowers, and nitrous injection)... and a paint shop. (;P) You can even record your performance in a 'VCR' mode and watch the playback to observe the amount of distortion in the rear tires due! to increased torque! With this degree of detail, IHRA Drag Racing will allow for hobbyists and fans alike to have some (simulated) hands-on experience at a really expensive sport. (Especially if your 'deep pockets' happen to be filled with greasy hand tools...)
