OPERATION:

NYko At E3

nYko wasn't pushing a wide variety of products this E3. Instead, they seemed to be concentrating on a few product lines and making them for a variety of systems.

This year they were highlighting the AirFlo controllers again, redesigned a bit from last year - and with a wireless model as well. When I stopped by with one of my reviewers, they didn't understand why anyone would want a controller with a built-in fan. "Try it," I said. And a few rounds of white-knuckled fighting action and the difference was obvious. The fans keep your hands cool and dry and allow you to concentrate on playing - not trying to hold on to the controller.

Additionally, nYko was showing off their new Wireless Net Extender line of wireless networking devices. With Xbox live going strong and Sony introducing the PS2 Online package soon, there will be a lot of people interested in getting internet access into their living rooms... ...and wires would simply cause clutter and safety hazards.

Of course, nYko had some cool looking gadgets and starter packs for the GBA and GBA SP, but I didn't get to check them out in detail. Stay tuned for in-depth reviews of nYko's new products.
