OPERATION:

Lara, My Love. Where Have You Been?

DATE: 2003-06-05 16:27:04

After several years in hiding, videogame vixen Lara Croft is back and with a vengeance. Well, what else would you expect when she's been accused of the murder of her mentor, Von Croy? Once again, Lara is embroiled in a mystical plot that will send her all over the world, only this time, she has become the hunted.

Lara will be sporting lots of changes as she makes her plunge onto the PlayStation 2. Ms. Croft will now be composed of 5000 polygons instead of the previous 500. She'll have a variety of new moves and most importantly, she'll be able to engage in hand-to-hand combat and talk to other characters, opening up alternate routes in gameplay. As you play as Lara, she will adapt to your style and you can increase her abilities and skills with your mad puzzle-solving skills. There will also be an additional playable character this go round by the name of Kurtis Trent, and he'll come with his own palette of moves. Lara will also come with a new control scheme, as opposed to the former 'grid-based' method of control. As I played the E3 demo, I found it a bit odd as I am so accustomed to the old method of control, but time will tell.

Look for Ms. Croft to head to your PS2 some time this summer.
