OPERATION:

Armed With No Common Sense, This Group Is Still Dangerous

DATE: 2003-05-27 00:01:17

Armed and Dangerous may very well end up being the next big non-Star Wars game LucasArts puts out. It has all the carnage and chaos of any action game, plus the trademark wit and humor that the good people at the Skywalker Ranch are known for.

The characters in this game may look devious enough, but upon closer inspection, you find they are nothing more than a rag tag crew of mad men and comic relief. Your band of robbers is comprised of a well-mannered giant English robot, a mole with a knack for explosives, a decrepit sage, and Roman, the leader of the gang. You play as Roman, who masterminds an impossible heist in the middle of a war, and as the story plays out, you and your band of mad men are caught up in a rebellion against a tyrant king.

The title of the game continues to be justified with all of the explosive weaponry at the player's fingertips. Of all the weapons, including the rocket launcher, sniper rifle, and sticky bombs, the topsy-turvy bomb is by far the most bizarre. This weapon momentarily turns the entire world upside down, and as you and your friends cling to the ground, your enemies fall helplessly into the sky. And just when they are almost out of site, the world rights itself, hurtling all of your foes back down to a not so forgiving earth.

LucasArts is developing this game in conjunction with Planet Moon Studios, the people who brought you Giants: Citizen Kabuto. The same amount of antics and puns derived from the British Isles have been stuffed into Armed and Dangerous, as well as a load of unique gameplay. Armed and Dangerous will be available for the Xbox and PC and this is definitely going to be a rising star amongst the many titles coming out this winter, so keep a close eye out for it.
