OPERATION:

There's No Ointment For These Worms

DATE: 2003-05-26 15:19:50

Never before have people loved worms so much. Just watching these cute little cephalopods blow the crap out of each other with bazookas is worth the admission price. As of late, all Worms games have been done completely in 2D. That is, until now. Worms 3D is taking these slimy creatures somewhere they never thought they'd be going; into the third dimension.

The core gameplay is staying the same; up to 4 squads of lethal worms can battle it out in any variety of game types. All of the weapons are remaining in the game, and there are even going to be some new ones. New defensive tactics are going to be available to the player, as worms can now dig in with trenches, sandbags, or fortifications. Players will have to take into account the wind factor, but this time in 3D, adding a whole new level of depth to the game. And yes, it will all be turn based, so you can take a sigh of relief now.

Unfortunately for American gamers, no launch date for the States has been set. Only Europe is definitely getting this game, but there isn't much of a reason not to release Worms 3D over here. As usual, we'll let you know about any breaking news as to whether we'll ever get to see those tiny pink crawly things blow up in true 3D.
