The Kingdom Is Yet Again Under Fire

NCSoft wasn't just all about the RPG's this year. The Xbox game Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders seems to be what Dynasty Warriors never was. Upon joining one of two sides, the player can choose their type of Hero, which yields to them a variety of different skills that can be utilized in battle. After that, your army can range from one unit, which is you, up to 1000 people. You and your army will travel the world map, stopping by castles, collecting endorsements from feudal lords, and hiring mercenaries.

Once your army management has come to an end, you will invariably be thrown into the thick of battle. By controlling your Hero in the middle of the carnage, you can give your soldiers orders and watch as they carry them out. Many different weapons can be used against your foes, such as the bow or catapults for long range punishment.

This sequel looks to blow away the game it spawned from. Up to 150 people can be seen in a battle at once, and the 3D graphics look amazing. Along with heavy RPG and RTS elements, a wide variety of characters to choose from, and new levels downloadable via Xbox LIVE, The Crusaders may be just what disheartened Dynasty Warrior fans have been looking for.
