DATE: 2003-05-22 11:20:14

Midway is planning on releasing a large number of games in the up and coming year. On their list is everything from sports games to racing games to several GameBoy Advance games.

The first of Midway’s games to make people’s heads turn would have to be Spy Hunter 2, a mission based action racing game that will give you the chance to pilot a transforming car with upgradeable defensive and offensive weapons.

Midway is also bringing back their signature fighter, Mortal Kombat in Mortal Kombat: Tournament where players are able to assume control of several classic MK characters, as well as several new ones. Tournament is a GameBoy Advance only title.

Other GBA games to be released soon is Super Duper Sumos, a cartoon that is suppose to hit America soon, but has made a name for itself across the water and Justice League: Dark Reflections which will allow you to take on the role of classic DC super heroes to defeat villains who are bent on overthrowing the world.

Midway is also planning on releasing several sports games, both as Midway Sports and Midway Sports Asylum.

Midway Sports is releasing NFL Blitz Pro where this new version of the Blitz series will boast 11-on-11 play with real NFL teams. Another game being released is NHL Hitz Pro, a similar game, but for the Hockey fan.

Asylum is putting out NBA Ballers and Freestyle Metal X. Ballers is like “MTV’s Cribs meets the NBA”, said a Midway representative, where you play the big stars in the NBA but in backyard or park courts. Freestyle is a freestyle motocross game where the player has more freedom than in any other motocross game before. Players are able to break windows, ride in areas where you couldn't in other games, and ride around with few restrictions then ever seen before.

All of the sports games mentioned above are planned to be released for PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube.
