Crashin' The Kart...

Mention the kart-racing genre to any Nintendrone, and they're likely to immediately begin spouting off their wonderfully gushy memories about the hours upon hours they spent racing friends in Mario Kart. But this is to be expected since the Mario Kart series have constantly been among, if not the best, in the genre. But, PlayStation gamers are likely to have the same memories, only instead of stemming from an Italian plumber, their memories are about everyone's favorite Bandicoot - Crash.

The original Crash Team Racing was, in my opinion, one of the best kart games ever made - even toppling the mighty Mario. To make a long memory short, my friends and I were addicted to the game and can now look forward to slipping back into that addiction this fall with Crash Nitro Kart.

Crash Nitro Kart finds our intrepid hero kidnapped by the evil Emperor Velo and forced to race his friends (and enemies) in his galactic coliseum. The stakes - win and save the world, lose and well... I'm sure you know where this is going. Although the story is based around Crash, players will be able to race as nearly every character in the Crash universe through 17 tracks in four worlds including erupting volcanoes, cities, and jungles. As with most kart games, Crash and crew will have multiple weapons at their disposal including Mines, Tornados, and Homing Missiles. Each of the karts will also transform to adapt to their surroundings. In addition to the single player game, Crash Nitro Kart will also feature several multiplayer modes allowing up to 8 players to participate. As an added bonus, players will be able to create their own custom arenas via the Arena Editor.

Crash Nitro Kart speeds onto the PS2, Xbox, and GameCube this fall.
