I Live My Life A Quarter Mile At A Time...

If you still haven't heard of the movie The Fast and the Furious, then you're already way behind the curve. Grossing over $206 million worldwide, and becoming something of a staple in the DVD market (the movie was the #1 DVD sold for six months after its release and has been classified as one of the Top 10 best selling DVDs of all time). With that kind of success, it's inevitable that one of two things will happen: You'll get a sequel, and perhaps a video game. In the case of The Fast and the Furious, it's getting both.

The game, developed by Genki - the developers behind the awesome Tokyo Xtreme Racing series, is all about the (illegal) underground street racing scene going on in nearly every city in America (and the World). You'll take on the role as one of the characters from either the original movie or its sequel, 2 Fast, 2 Furious, and undertake over 80 missions in order to gain money, street cred, and a few pink slips. The Fast and the Furious will give players the opportunity to mod their own cars, both inside and out, and race their nitro-charged creations through the beautifully rendered streets of Los Angeles in drag, street, and closed circuit courses. As an added bonus, Xbox gamers will get the chance to take their cars online and race.

Furthering the game's authenticity, The Fast and the Furious will also feature over 20 licensed cars as well as true-to-life aftermarket parts from companies such as AEM, GReddy, HKS, ICEMAN, Gude Performance, Goodyear, Dunlop, TSW, and A'PEX Integration.

Get ready to race this later this year on the PS2 and early next year on the Xbox.
